About Us

The Business Council for Global Development, LLC (BCGD) is a coalition of leading businesses that works with governments, international organizations and nongovernmental organizations to promote global development. BCGD is also a forum for sharing corporate best practices and engaging in multi-stakeholder dialogue.

BCGD brings together the voices of these leading companies to educate policymakers and other stakeholders about how businesses build capacity, promote sustainable development and create greater opportunity in the global economy. We advocate for policies that will expand opportunities for public-private partnerships, and enhance the role of business in driving economic development.

Our Mission:

Serve as a Partner in Global Development: BCGD and its member companies are participating in global development through innovative partnerships and programs with stakeholders including governments, international institutions, and NGOs to address social, economic, environmental and governance challenges in the developing world.

Engage and Partner with Key Stakeholders: BCGD serves as a resource and provides a platform for dialogue between Members of Congress, the Executive Branch officials, NGOs and business leaders about commercial activity, policies and programs that drive global development and reduce poverty.

Advocate Policy Priorities: BCGD advocates for effective policies and programs to achieve tangible results, including trade agreements, preference programs and policies that encourage foreign direct investment and enhance public – private partnerships. We also advocate for improved rule of law in the developing world, including on intellectual property, labor rights and environmental sustainability.
